Rex Runzheimer is the Chairman, CEO, and owner of Runzheimer International. He is transforming a 74 year old company by making key organizational and strategic changes to ensure the company is competitive in the fast-paced, technology-driven marketplaces in which it competes. Under his leadership, the company, which provides employee mobility services and products, has grown and solidified its strong client base of over 3,000 companies.
Mr. Runzheimer holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree form UW-Madison, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan. He serves in the Young Presidents Organization and The Executive Committee to provide leadership and insight through education, discussion and reflection on important business topics with key leaders of Wisconsin’s top companies. His vision in creating Project CAPE is in keeping with his dynamic leadership and commitment to improving school systems that prepare children for success in a global society.
Dr. James J. Shaw, Ph.D. [open]

James Shaw is Clinical Professor in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at UW-Madison. He directs the electronic portfolio system for licensing school administrators, the Master Administrator Capstone Certificate program, the Wallace Fellows Program, the Wisconsin Idea Superintendent Cohort, and the Wisconsin Idea Executive Ph.D Program in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
Dr. Shaw’s leadership has been recognized statewide as he served in various roles of public education, including superintendent, director of pupil services, teacher, and school psychologist.
His more than thirty-five years of experience, numerous accomplishments, and many awards, including Wisconsin State Superintendent of the Year, the Wisconsin Education Association Council’s Friend of Education Award, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education Distinguished Achievement Award, offer Project CAPE the highest level of expertise in achieving its mission.
Dr. Ronda Ewald, Ph.D. [open]

Ronda Ewald is Executive Director of Project CAPE. With more than thirty years of experience in education, Dr. Ewald began her career as a first grade teacher in New York City and has served in various leadership roles in Wisconsin, including superintendent, principal, classroom teacher, adjunct professor, equity coordinator, and director of a corporate child development center.
She has published and conducted state and national workshops on topics ranging from the importance of quality early childhood programs and parenting to leadership for organizational change. Her resume’ includes significant accomplishments in mentoring other leaders, developing successful school business partnerships, service on community boards, and other awards.
Dr. Ewald is honored to support visionary public school educators in continuous improvement of their learning communities through Project CAPE.
