Guiding Beliefs

  • Public schools open doors to the American dream by providing equal opportunity for all children.  They strive to educate every child to the fullest of his or her potential, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, or family income.Project CAPE

  • Individual schools have the capacity and potential to change themselves effectively, to transform themselves into highly successful schools where all children achieve at high levels.

  • Public schools provide the bridges from poverty to middle class through creating relationships, providing role modeling, and most of all by increasing individuals’ achievement level through appropriate instruction.

  • An educated citizenry is critical to sustaining our economy and our system of self-governance.  In today’s world, where good jobs, (those that pay beyond minimum wage to enable living independently), demand some post-secondary education, effective schools are more critical than ever to the future of our society, economy, and democracy.

  • Knowledge and skills for the 21st century must be built on core subjects and emphasize information and communication skills, thinking and problem-solving skills, and interpersonal and self-directional skills.

  • Raising student achievement, especially closing the gap between economically disadvantaged students and their peers, is a continuous challenge and commitment for public schools.

  • Building professional learning communities requires active engagement from families, community, and business.  Project CAPE believes in the power of public schools in Racine County to make a difference and as a cadre of prominent business leaders is dedicated to energizing teaching and learning to raise student achievement.

  • Our support of the K-12 public education system is an investment in our community’s human capital.  It leads to high wages, employment stability, and social equity.
